This is one of my favorite songs on this CD. I like the way that it goes from 6/8 to 4/4. I came up with the chorus of this song while visiting my friend Kit in Michigan. The idea hit me while enjoying a rare day off on the road with the Flecktones. Kit and I went into Sound Stage 1 Productions in Climax Michigan and recorded a demo of the chorus just so that I wouldn't forget it.

The next time that I was at home I got the musicians together and we recorded the rest of the music. I think that it was Derico that had me put the bass solo in 6/8 instead of 4/4. The next time Kit came to town she re-recorded her vocals. Saundra added her vocals at a later date and then the song was complete.

I used my Taylor acoustic bass for the solo and it gave it a different feel. I tried playing the whole song on that bass but it worked better saving it for the solo.

In the middle of the song U hear two different prayers being spoken at the same time. I had originally intended for there to be many prayers spoken from different religions and beliefs all at the same time. But it quickly got too crowded on the track so I left it with only two prayers.

The idea for the lyrics came while thinking about my fathers passing on Christmas 2003. I combined thoughts about his life, my life and your life. I wove them all together to make the song the way it is now and like I said before, it is one of my favorites on the CD. I hope that U like it too.
