A funky little tune in 11/8.

I started out playing this groove at Flecktones' soundchecks. It felt so natural to me that it took me a while before I realized that it was in an odd time signature.

Dennis played with a cymbal placed on his snare drum for the verses. He used a different snare for the choruses. This gave the drums a distinctly different sound on each part. He also played this song in only ONE TAKE! This is amazing given that the song is in 11/8, goes to 4/4, and has just a few bars of 12/8 stuck in there. Dennis is the man. (and he's an expert on the “Kennedy Tapes” - Don't try to figure that one out.)

Larry Jarvis, a friend of mine from my hometown in VA. just happened to be visiting so I asked him to play guitar. I though that the time sig. Would give him trouble. I was surely wrong. Listen closely to the guitar part. It is the funkiest guitar part in 11/8 U may ever hear.

Ganesh and Subash added the authentic Indian percussion and vocal percussion. The time signature was NO problem for these guys either. They eat and drink time signatures like this.

There's also some pretty nice background bass work if U listen closely.
