I love the feel of this song. I came up with this song one night when I had somewhere else to be. I threw it down on tape with bass, guitar and drum machine. I used the idea of a simple melody on top of complex rhythms for this one. The song is basically in 6/8 but we alter it a little. The simple melody helps make it unnoticeable. The melody on the bridge came to me as we were recording the strings.

This is another song that Carter had to walk in and learn on the spot. He switches between 6/8, 3/4, and who knows what during this song. As usual he did an amazing job.

Notes:

• This session date was video taped and recorded for an instructional video. It features Carter and myself. It will deal with the relationship between bass and Drums. It should be out soon on Hudson Music videos.
• I had just picked up the nylon string bass from Ken Lawrence at the NAMM show in January.
• Michael Kott does the voice for "Radio W-OO-10"

Things 2 Listen 4:

• The intro pizzicato line is in 4/4. I play it straight to cause a little tension against the 6/8
• The bridge is 5/4, 4/4, 5/4, 4/4, 6/4. It actually works out if u keep counting in 6/8.
• The solo at the end is me on the Fodera Tenor Bass through a Boss overdrive pedal.
• Regi's sweep picking after the bridge.
• Cathy sings the melody towards the end of the song. Can u hear it?
• Carter's amazing cymbal and hi-hat work. No one else plays like this.
